水力压裂技术获得台湾NMA动画演绎

水力压裂技术实际上在几个月前就得到了台湾NMA动画演绎处理,因为人们开始担心他们的水槽可能会因甲烷污染而点燃,但我这周才看到。它在总结水力压裂背后的总体思路方面做得不错(将大量液体泵入地下以破解岩石,提取天然气),以及为什么人们担心/反对/害怕它可能对地下水造成的影响(你的水槽可能会点燃,没什么大不了的)。

鉴于德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校能源研究所的新报告,制作一个新的动画,并从科学界更新信息会很好,即地下水污染可能不是水力压裂及相关液体的直接结果,而是可能来自地面液体的溢出。我不确定这些水力压裂视频是否像这个滑稽的里克·佩里待遇那样病毒式传播,但是确保向公众提供最新的(和准确的!)科学信息与科学本身一样重要。

David's academic and professional background includes a unique blend of technology and policy in the field of energy systems. Most recently, David worked at Austin Energy, a Texas municipal utility, implementing a Department of Energy stimulus grant related to energy efficiency. Previously, David was a member of the Energy & Climate Change team at the White House Council on Environmental Quality for the Obama Administration.

David holds two Master's degrees from The University of Texas at Austin in Mechanical Engineering and Public Affairs. While at UT, David was a researcher in the Webber Energy Group, where his research focused on advanced biofuel production to offset petroleum use in the transportation sector. David holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where he researched nuclear non-proliferation measurement technology.

David is a 2013 Aspen Institute Journalism Scholar, joining a select group of journalists from Slate, ABC News, and The New York Times.
